PRP Microneedling
At Plasma Therapy, we believe in using your own body’s natural properties in order to repair and rejuvenate your skin. Our Plasma Skin Resurfacing treatment, also known as Vampire Facial involves using the plasma extracted from your blood onto your skin to achieve natural results.
The use of PRP harnesses the properties of platelets to create a wound healing process that stimulates collagen production, promotes tissue repair and rejuvenates the skin with stem cells and growth factors.

More About PRP Needling
Platelet-Rich Plasma Skin Treatments
PRP skin microneedling offers a promising solution for those looking to enhance both the quality and appearance of their skin by utilising these growth factors and natural healing mechanisms.
Skin Rejuvenation:
One of the standout benefits of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) in skin microneedling is its ability to provide sustained skin rejuvenation. PRP, rich in growth factors, works synergistically with microneedling to activate the skin’s natural repair mechanisms.
The growth factors in PRP are released gradually, offering a more extended period of skin rejuvenation compared to traditional microneedling treatments. This makes PRP skin microneedling a long-lasting solution for various skin concerns.
Tissue Regeneration and Healing:
PRP is well-known for its tissue regenerative properties. When combined with microneedling, it not only stimulates collagen production but also accelerates the healing of scars, fine lines, and other skin imperfections. This makes it an ideal treatment for those looking to improve both the texture and tone of their skin.
Platelets and Growth Factors:
PRP is a concentrated form of your own blood, enriched with platelets. These platelets contain various growth factors like PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and IGF, which are crucial for the body’s natural healing and skin regeneration processes.
Targeted Skin Rejuvenation:
Skin aging and damage occur in phases and layers. PRP’s growth factors target these layers to:
- Boost Collagen Production: PRP stimulates collagen synthesis, leading to firmer, more youthful skin.
- Enhance Skin Elasticity: Growth factors improve the skin’s elasticity, making it more resilient.
- Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles: PRP can significantly diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Improve Skin Texture: The treatment enhances overall skin texture and tone.

how it works
Resurface Skin & Remove Blemishes
We start off by drawing a small sample of your blood into a PRP tube. This tube is placed into a centrifuge which spins at an extremely rapid rate, separating the red blood cells from the Platelet Rich Plasma.
While your blood is spinning, a clinician will prepare your skin for the treatment by initially cleansing your skin, and then applying a topical numbing cream.
Once your plasma has separated, we use it on your skin with a our Mesopen microneedling pen which creates micro ‘wounds’ which will promote renewal of skin & allows for the PRP to enter deeper into the layers of your skin.

Why PRP Skin Needling?
The growth factors found in PRP will enter the deeper layers of the skin, promoting better renewal and a greater amount of collagen in comparison to microneedling alone. By drawing on your body’s own healing process, plasma microneedling offers a natural approach to facial rejuvenation and can help improve acne scarring or other scarring, hyperpigmentation, post-acne pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin tones, uneven skin texture, rosacea and stretch marks.

Frequently Asked Questions
PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. Blood, in addition to red and white blood cells contains platelets, rich in growth factors and are the most potent healers of the body. Growth factors promote healing by restoring strength of the tissue.
Once blood is collected via a tube, it is processed at high speeds, resulting in a separation of the red blood cells from the plasma. This plasma has higher concentrations of platelets with growth and healing factors, which are then used to promote healing, increase local blood flow, and stimulate hair follicles to grow healthier.
After cleansing and preparing your skin, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the area. PRP therapy begins by first drawing the patient’s own blood into a specially prepared test tube. The blood is then spun in the centrifuge to separate out the platelets.
The needling of the plasma into your skin will begin!
We finish the treatment off with some LED light therapy to assist with the healing process, alongside some antiseptic cream which is applied to the area treated.
By drawing on your body’s own healing process, PRP therapy offers a natural approach to facial rejuvenation and can help target the following concerns:
- Collagen Renewal
- Dark under eye circles
- Acne Scarring
- Other Scarring
- Post Acne Pigmentation
- Pigmentation

- Uneven skin tone
- Rosacea
More than just a facial, Vampire Facials can be used to treat the face, neck, and décolletage as well as any other areas of the body for stretch marks or scarring.
You will experience slight swelling and redness immediately after the treatment, which will usually disappear in 24 -48 hours. However, there might be slight scabbing (depending on depth) followed by dryness and flakey skin. This should be completely healed by 5 – 7 days.
As you will be completely numb for the treatment, there is little to no pain at all! PRP is completely safe! Platelet-rich-plasma is a product of your own body. There are no negative effects on your body from PRP.
If you can, it is best if you can avoid anti-inflammatory medications for three days prior and three days after the procedure. This includes prescription anti-inflammatory medications as well as over the counter paracetamol (cardiac clients should continue taking aspirin). Clients on blood thinners (Coumadin/warfarin/Plavix/Pradaxa) are not candidates for PRP injections. Right after the PRP procedure, the client is fine to continue normal everyday life.
